牆內的秘密

野草是日治時期建造的房舍，我們特意保留了一小方牆面，露出裡面的結構。
日本木造房舍牆壁，多是利用苦竹或切割後的山竹，
搭建骨架時先將支架插入洞孔，然後細繩固定。

將拍碎的稻稈和在泥土裡，製作牆土的灰泥，
由內往外塗上一層層壁土，
等牆面乾燥後再進行第二次墁牆的動作，
放置數月乾燥再表層粉刷。

The walls of most Japanese wooden houses used cut bamboos inside.  When constructing the frameworks a kind of scaffolding was set up fitted into the holes and fixed with fine strings.  Crushed straws were then mixed with plaster and then applied layer after layer on the wall frame, the first applied layer was allowed to dry out before applying the next layer.  The whole wall was then left to dry out before applying the surface coating. 

日本の木造家屋の壁には真竹や山竹が多用されている。
壁をつくる際、先に竹の骨組みを埋め込んで細縄で固定。
稲ガラと土をこねて壁土を作って壁を塗っていく。
壁面の乾燥を待って二度目の壁塗りを行い、数ヶ月後に表面の仕上げを行う。
